We went for a drive up to Lake Tahoe. Going up the mountain was making my ears pop and it was getting harder and harder to breathe. I don't like going up high in altitude. It is close to 9,000 feet high. We pulled over to look over the edge of the mountain by the road. This is another lake at the bottom of the mountain on the way to Carson City, NV.
As we were sitting there, a couple of trucks pulled up. They had gliders on top of their trucks. One guy got out of his car and tied something (ribbons) on a pole like the one in the corner of my picture. It started blowing in the wind. They were testing the wind direction. We asked them if they were going to glide by jumping off the mountain right here. They said "Yes we are, but we are going to talk awhile and then get the glider ready and glide away." I wanted to watch them but it sounded like it would be awhile.
The sky was getting pretty grey from the clouds. When I got home the news said it was really raining up on the mountain and even flooding. I wonder if they got to glide that day.

What a great view! Lake Tahoe is on the itinerary for a trip we're hoping to do next September.
